CREDIT RISK ANALYST
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Reporting & Data Analyst to support the Credit Assessment, Collections & Recovery, and Refund functions. Reporting to the Head of Section, this role is responsible for delivering timely and accurate management reporting, portfolio analytics, and business insights to support operational performance, financial monitoring, and strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain reports and dashboards, monitor portfolio performance and ageing trends across both Consumer and Enterprise segments, and support the monthly Provision for Doubtful Debts (PFDD) reporting process. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, sound financial knowledge, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive operational improvements and business performance.
Responsibilities
· Prepare, maintain, and enhance regular and ad hoc management reports, dashboards, and data visualisations to support the Credit Assessment, Collections & Recovery, and Refund functions.
· Monitor and analyse ageing reports and portfolio trends across Consumer and Enterprise segments, highlighting key risks, performance trends, and areas requiring management attention.
· Support the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of monthly Provision for Doubtful Debts (PFDD) reports and other financial and operational reporting requirements.
· Analyse portfolio performance, collection effectiveness, recovery rates, and key operational metrics, providing meaningful insights and recommendations.
· Collect, cleanse, validate, and reconcile data from multiple systems to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of reporting outputs.
· Work closely with Finance, IT, Risk, and business stakeholders to support reporting requirements and improve data quality.
· Develop and maintain automated reporting solutions and dashboards to improve reporting efficiency and reduce manual processes.
· Support data governance initiatives by ensuring compliance with reporting standards, data quality requirements, and internal controls.
· Document reporting methodologies, business rules, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and sustainability.
· Perform other reporting, analytical, and ad hoc assignments as required to support business and operational objectives.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Information Systems, or a related discipline from a recognised university.
· Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in reporting, business analytics, MIS, financial analysis, or data analytics.
· Experience in the telecommunications industry is preferred. Candidates with relevant experience in credit operations, collections, finance, or commercial reporting will also be considered.
· Good understanding of financial reporting concepts, ageing analysis, portfolio performance monitoring, and Provision for Doubtful Debts (PFDD) is an advantage.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms.
· Experience with SQL and data extraction from multiple systems will be an added advantage.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
· Ability to interpret complex data and present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Good communication, stakeholder management, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
