SENIOR CONTRACT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Date:  15 Jul 2026
Custom Field 2:  14861
Employment Type:  Permanent
City:  CelcomDigi Tower, Petaling Jay
Description:

Job Description

Contract Manager — Specialist / Senior Specialist (Procurement)

Not a traditional Contract Manager Role

We are looking for a contract manager who works well across different contracts spanning technology, network, IT, digital solutions and corporate categories. Contract subject matter and domains shift often, and timelines are tight. Strong learning agility is essential, you will be expected to pick up new technical areas quickly and apply them to find solutions for your contracts.

We manage a few hundred procurement contracts a year, fast paced within a lean team. This is not a contract admin role you will own contracts end to end: strategy, drafting, negotiation, and closure.

Responsibilities

A. What you will actually be doing;

1.Contract Review, Redlining and Negotiation

    1. Review and redline supplier contracts against our templates and playbooks, and against supplier paper. This is most of your day to day.
    2. Know how to draft, not just redline. When templates aren't fit for purpose, fill the gaps, support drafting scope of work, restructure clauses, and keep the contract consistent with the technical scope.
    3. Lead supplier negotiations to closure, with support from Procurement, Legal, and business users. Suppliers are often sharp negotiators, so you need to steer the conversations and negotiate for closure, not just passively respond with no solutions.
    4. Work from partial or scattered stakeholder inputs and connect the pieces into a contract position that holds up.

2. Portfolio, Risk, Stakeholders Management and Post Contract Management

    1. Manage a portfolio end to end: intake, drafting, stakeholder alignment, execution, stamping, renewal.
    2. Assess risk and prioritise what's material, with a recommendation, not merely flag risks exercise.
    3. Manage a high volume of renewals on time, in parallel with few complex, high value contract negotiations.
    4. Handle post contractual disputes and performance issues as they arise.
    5. Work directly with Legal, InfoSec, Tax, Data Privacy, Risk & Compliance, and OSHE to reconcile requirements without needing every decision escalated.

3. Continous Process Improvement and Digital Enablement

    1. Improve templates, playbooks, standard clauses, and leverage digital tools, so recurring problems get solved once, not repeatedly.
    2. Digitally savvy, combfartable using diffrent tools to maxmise productivity (including AI)
    3. Leverage on systematic thinking to establish SOPs for continous process improvements

B. What you need to have already done (Needed Pasts Experiences)

    1. Drafted commercial contracts independently (not just reviewed or redlined them).
    2. Run contract negotiation with external suppliers until signature, including managing stakeholders pushback from a counterparty or internal stakeholder.
    3. Managed a live portfolio of multiple commercial transaction contracts against deadlines, not a single deal at a time.
    4. Made a risk call under time pressure without full information, and can explain how you decided what to escalate versus what you resolved yourself.
    5. Experience in telecom, IT, or network category contracts. Fast learners across categories are prioritised over category-specific experience.

Requirements

Experience Needed:

  • Min 12-15 years in commercial transactions contract management. Legal In-House background highly preferred
  • Experience handling commercial contracts (procurement, IT, services, Enterprise Business, network leasing, etc.)
  • Enterprise Business: managing back-to-back alignment (customer vs supplier), identifying gaps in obligations, risk exposure, and commercial mismatches
  • Network / Infrastructure: handling network leasing, access agreements, or infrastructure contracts, with awareness of operational, commercial, and regulatory dependencies
  • Exposure to technology, IT, or software licence contracts is beneficial.
  • The ability to learn at speed and operate across multiple contract categories is essential; applying past knowledge to pick up new domains quickly will help you thrive here.
