Job Description

Lead nationwide physical security operations for technology-related infrastructure, ensuring the protection, availability, and resilience of data centres, hubs, telco towers, and other critical technology facilities. The role oversees security operations, regulatory compliance, vendor management, security technology projects, incident management, and loss prevention across all sites. It will drive standardized security governance, ensure compliance with Malaysian regulations and law enforcement requirements, manage security partners and systems, and lead the adoption of technology-driven and smart security solutions..

Responsibilities

Nationwide Physical Security Operations (Technology-related Infrastructure)

  • Lead and manage end-to-end physical security operations across all technology buildings nationwide, including perimeter security, access control, surveillance systems, guarding services, and security assets.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of all security systems with zero tolerance for downtime that may impact business continuity.
  • Drive operational consistency across regions through standardized procedures, governance, and performance monitoring.

 

Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with Malaysian regulatory requirements, including Home Ministry guidelines, and internal corporate security policies.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce physical security policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols across all sites specific needs.
  • Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to identify gaps and enforce corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with enforcement authorities, particularly the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).Act as the primary point of contact for engagements with regulators such as MCMC and other GEAs
  • Lead community engagement initiatives, including awareness programs and security briefings and represent the organization in joint operations, forums, and security-related collaborations (e.g., Ops Lusuh).

 

 Vendor & Contract Management

  • Oversee and manage security service providers and vendors, ensuring adherence to SLAs, contractual obligations, and company standards.
  • Lead vendor performance reviews, cost optimization initiatives, and service quality improvements to support operational efficiency and scalability.

 

Security Project Management, Technology & Transformation

  • Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of security technology projects and digital initiatives, including but not limited to intrusion system,  CCTVs, access control,  system integration and smart security solutions.
  • Continuously assess emerging risks and recommend innovative solutions to strengthen security posture and dynamic environment for data centres, hub, telco towers and related tech infra.

 

Incident Management & Loss Prevention

  • Lead incident response and investigation involving security breaches, vandalism, and loss events across nationwide facilities including evidence collection, interviews, reporting, and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and implement preventive measures and continuous improvement plans based on incident insights

 

Reporting & Analytics 

  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on security operations, incidents, risks, and performance metrics to management on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, including actionable insights for decision-making and escalation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the physical security industry, with strong exposure to security operations and site protection.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Building Management, Facilities Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in physical and perimeter security, including facilities and security project management, surveillance systems, access control, and related security infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience in security systems and equipment, including system handling, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination with relevant vendors.
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with government authorities, law enforcement agencies, external parties, and internal stakeholders on security-related matters.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, investigation, and report-writing skills, with the ability to assess security risks and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Experienced in close monitoring, incident tracking, and maintaining accurate security records and documentation to enable timely response and effective incident management.
  • Good understanding of relevant laws, regulations, security standards, and law enforcement requirements, with the ability to ensure compliance across security operations.
